Whoa! The 20,000 onions are planted in the field behind John and Marys house. Our cheerful helpers were serenaded by the frogs singing in the ponds during the 5 hour onion plant. This is the time of year (before the tops start to grow) when we dig parsnips out of our gardens in Minnesota. After a winter in the garden they are very sweet and delicious.
