Well, Jean is thrilled that it is summer vacation because the work crew is back to getting the farm work done. Today these kids weeded the entire onion field. Very good work. Beautiful.

It will be a big day planting pumpkin seeds and transplanting vegetables. Gotta get busy now and will try and get some photos to show our good work. Whoa! The 20,000 onions are planted in the field behind John and Marys house. Our cheerful helpers were serenaded by the frogs singing in the ponds during the 5 hour onion plant. We stopped the grass fire at the fence line

While cooking maple syrup in the woods the sky started filling with black smoke. We dashed to the north property line and saw a fire in the neighbors swamp racing toward us. John Peterson grabbed a leaf blower and blew the flames back into the burned area. Jean, Mary, Rob and Lee Peterson swept behind with fan rakes. [...]
