Summer vacation!

Well, Jean is thrilled that it is summer vacation because the work crew is back to getting the farm work done. Today these kids weeded the entire onion field. Very good work. Beautiful.

Vegetable transplants heading out to the field where they will become rooted, harvest the sun and rain and grow the most delicious tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and eggplant. Happy anniversary Al and Jean!

Well, today was our 31 st wedding anniversary. We both live together and work together and still both voted to continue our good marriage. As a great gift to Jean,  Al went out and planted a 2 acre soybean food plot for the resident deer herd. This will be sweet yummy food for the deer and [...]

Whoa!  The 20,000 onions are planted in the field behind John and Marys house. Our cheerful helpers were serenaded by the frogs singing in the ponds during the 5 hour onion plant. The happy onion babies are waiting for rain and then going to grow into those famous big sweet onions we all love.  Come July, [...]

We stopped the grass fire at the fence line

While cooking maple syrup in the woods the sky started filling with black smoke. We dashed to the north property line and saw a fire in the neighbors swamp racing toward us. John Peterson grabbed a leaf blower and blew the flames back into the burned area. Jean, Mary, Rob and Lee Peterson swept behind with fan rakes. [...]

Jean is excited about the photos Mitch Kezar of Windigo Images took of her and Al using the Mathews Mission Archery bows! (We adore this equipment) These really fun photos were taken last winter.
