sweet corn harvest has begun!

Posted July 26th, 2011 by jean. Comment (0).

We pick sweet corn fresh every morning. Find it at our roadstand along with cucumbers, onions, garlic,  and pickling cucumbers. Green bean harvest starting in a day or two. Stop out for some delicious fresh vegetables.

Tomato, pepper, cabbage brussle sprout and eggplant transplants waited on a hay wagon for three weeks waiting for the fields to dry enough for us to work the soil. Sunday we got tractors in the fields and all the yummy vegetables have been planted. We will tend the crops well and look forward to delicious harvest this summer and fall.

Yesterday we planted a wonderful array pumpkin seeds which  are now busy germinating. This is good.

It has been a challenge getting our crops planted this year and we are grateful the crops are now in the field and growing!
